Pre-primary had a common assembly were kids were told the story of Lord Ganesha and other important festival related stories. Teachers in their respective classes showed children how to make a Ganesha idol with the clay. And the importance of worshipping an eco friendly Ganesha was explained. Later children moulded small tiny Ganeshas with Play Doh and took them home to continue the celebrations with their family.

The topic for addressing the students was festivals. The dynasty session was an effective platform to make the students aware of different festivals celebrated in India, their historic significance and importance in our lives.

The children were asked to speak a few lines on Diwali since it was an Child labour extempore festival. The children were guided about how to celebrate and enjoy a safe Diwali, sensitized how the pollution caused by burning crackers and the precautions to be taken while burning eco friendly crackers.

The children participated enthusiastically and shared their knowledge. The salad making competition was conducted with a view to create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked Child labour extempore fire and also to expose the children to the international popularity of salads.

The competition acquired global dimensions at the planning and preparatory stage itself when the students of Grades VI-VIII were instructed to prepare salads or fruit bowls or combo of both which are popular not only in India but also in France and Sweden.

The dynasty wardens and tutors along with the captains, vice-captains and house members of the four dynasties played a pivotal role in motivating the students, guiding them, sending them recipes and pictures of different salads from France, Sweden and India and sharing lists of ingredients required for their preparation.

Detailed information was given to the participants regarding the ingredients, flower arrangements, cutlery, crockery, table-linen etc to be brought from home on the preceding days. On the day of the competition, the students were given one-hour slot to prepare their dish, display and keep it ready for presentation.

The judgment was done under 5 categories like-Creativity, Presentation, Cleanliness, Taste, Nutritive value of the salad. The children were made to understand the different types of forests, their uses and the importance of forests in our lives.

The session was very interactive as the children shared their views on the various ways of saving our forests. The children were able to answer all the questions which were asked at the end of the session. All the children were able to speak confidently and all had understood and fully well realized the importance of forests in their life.

The students crammed themselves up with a lot of Computer Knowledge while preparing themselves for the quiz. Several intuitive and interesting questions were asked to the students related to different programmes and software of computer.

Three highly different rounds were a part of the quiz. Three separate questions apart from normal rounds were put up for the break round.

The quiz had a Bonus Round which made it more exciting for the students and the audience both. The students of Oak and Cedar Dynasty were fervent participants at the competition. Each team put up a whole hearted effort but Oak Dynasty aced the first rank.

Over all it was a fun filled day and students and teachers really enjoyed the quiz thoroughly. The Maths Department had conducted a preliminary round of Mental Maths in the month of December on the basis of which the selection of students from all the four dynasties was done.
